COLUMBIA, S.C. – Lisle Traywick, an associate with Robinson Gray law firm, has been named to the Supreme Court of South Carolina’s Pro Bono Honor Roll for his commitment to pro bono service in 2019.
The Honor Roll recognizes lawyers who have provided 50 or more hours of pro bono legal service in a calendar year. “Pro bono” professional services are those provided for no fee or at a reduced fee to persons of limited means or to public service or charitable groups or organizations.
“The Supreme Court of South Carolina is extremely grateful for the pro bono services rendered by the members of the South Carolina Bar,” according to a statement on the court’s website. “These services not only help improve the lives of South Carolina citizens of low means, but also help ensure a fair and efficient court system in South Carolina.”
“We’re always proud of our attorneys for their commitment to community service, but even more so under times like these, when we are all facing a crisis that gives us new perspective on what’s truly important,” said Cal Watson, the firm’s managing member. “The fact that Lisle has gone the extra mile this way in serving our society reflects well not only on this firm, but on the entire legal profession.”
Lisle focuses his practice at Robinson Gray on appellate advocacy and civil litigation. He represents clients in a wide range of disputes involving healthcare, premises liability, product liability, and professional liability. Additionally, he handles election-related matters, defends governmental entities, and litigates constitutional issues in state and federal court.
A native of Columbia, Lisle graduated cum laude from Wofford College and earned his juris doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law. Before joining Robinson Gray, he clerked for the Honorable David C. Norton at the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina and the Honorable H. Bruce Williams at the South Carolina Court of Appeals. Lisle currently serves on the boards of both the South Carolina Chapter of the Federal Bar Association and the Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough Center on Professionalism at the University of South Carolina School of Law. He is also a member of the Class of 2020 for Leadership Columbia.
