COLUMBIA, S.C. – Robinson Gray Stepp & Laffitte, LLC, has received the South Carolina Bar 2022 Pro Bono Award, reflecting the law firm’s service to the community in 2021.
The award was presented on May 12 at the Bar’s House of Delegates meeting in Columbia of recognition of the firm’s “embodiment of Rule 6.1 of the South Carolina Rules of Professional Conduct in every respect.”
Rule 6.1 provides “A lawyer should render public interest legal service. A lawyer may discharge this responsibility by providing professional services at no fee or reduced fee to persons of limited means or to public service or charitable groups or organizations, by service in activities for improving the law, the legal system or the legal profession, and by financial support for organizations that provide legal services to persons of limited means.”
The South Carolina Bar presents awards annually to individual lawyers, law firms, and other organizations “that have demonstrated outstanding commitment to providing volunteer legal services to the poor and disadvantaged.”
Attorneys Molly Campolong and La’Jessica Stringfellow, who are the leaders of Robinson Gray’s Pro Bono Committee, accepted the award on behalf of the firm. Thanks to their efforts and those of others at the firm, Robinson Gray was also named a “Pro Bono Leader” for South Carolina by the American Bar Association in 2020 and 2021.

Also, Associate Ashley Dixon, was recognized by the American Bar Association as an ABA Free Legal Answers Pro Bono Leader for 2021.
