SUMTER, South Carolina, August 13, 2019 – Steve Heinemann has been selected as Assistant Vice President of Mortgage Services for SAFE Federal Credit Union.
Prior to joining SAFE, Heinemann spent most of his lending career in the Michigan area, where he worked for some of the nation’s largest mortgage lenders. He most recently served as the Mortgage Branch Manager of NVR Mortgage in Raleigh, North Carolina. Heinemann brings more than 25 years of management experience to SAFE through his extensive background in mortgage and home equity lending.
Heinemann graduated from Walsh College of Accounting and Business Administration with a Bachelor of Business Administration. He previously served as a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity.
“Mortgages are among the greatest ways SAFE serves its members and we are fortunate to have someone of Steve Heinemann’s caliber leading our mortgage lending efforts,” said SAFE President and CEO, Darrell Merkel. “With Steve’s leadership, we look forward to delivering our members the best possible experience when they’re ready to buy or refinance their home.”
“I’ve always enjoyed working in the credit union environment where the focus is on putting the member first, not profit,” said Heinemann. “I look forward to helping SAFE members achieve their dream of home ownership.”
