Salsa master Jack Valerio brings the moves Blue Moon Ballroom

Salsa master Jack Valerio is Blue Moon Ballroom’s special guest dance instructor for the month of January. Valerio, a New York native who has taught salsa and other rhythm dances for more than 10 years, will teach the Latin Nightclub group class on Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. Designed to get dancers immediately familiar with the steps and style of a variety of Latin dances, the Latin Nightclub group class is followed by Blue Moon’s weekly practice party and social. The ballroom is located at 554 Meeting Street, West Columbia.
Valerio is a master teacher and professional educator from New York City, where he was principal of a Bronx high school before moving south. He started dancing 28 years ago and taught ballroom for more than 10 years in Florida. Valerio recently taught a group salsa class for USA Dance at the Columbia chapter’s bimonthly dance party at The Barn, in West Columbia.
