Columbia, S.C., June 5, 2018- The Salvation Army of the Midlands' Summer Day Camp starts Monday, June 11 for children in the 1st - 5th grade.
Summer Day Camp will run for six weeks starting on Monday, June 11 and running through Friday, July 20 from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM each week day. The Salvation Army of the Midlands' Summer Day Camp program provides low income families with a safe and fun camp opportunity for their children. Summer hunger is a major problem for children living in poverty, so a nutritious breakfast and lunch will be served to the children each day.
The camp will only cost families $40 for the entire six weeks of summer camp. The low-cost registration fee makes camp affordable for underserved families. The Salvation Army is requesting financial support from the community to help cover the total costs required to operate the Summer Day Camp.
The Salvation Army of the Midlands needs to raise $21,400 to cover camp fees and costs for local children. To make a financial donation, please visit the website (doingthemostgood.org) or mail a check to P.O. Box 2786, Columbia SC 29202.
