Columbia, S.C., May 18, 2018- The Salvation Army of the Midlands will provide day camp for children in the 1st through 5th grade for six weeks this summer.
Day camp will start on June 11 and run through July 20 from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM each week day. The Salvation Army of the Midlands's day camp program allows parents to feel confident knowing that their child is in a safe and fun environment during the summer months. During day camp, children are able to take part in games, educational activities, field trips and more!
Summer hunger is a major problem for children living in poverty, so a nutritious breakfast and lunch will be served to the children each day.
The camp will only cost families $40 for the entire six weeks of summer camp. With this low camp registration fee, The Salvation Army needs financial support from the community to support this program.
The Salvation Army of the Midlands needs to raise $21,400 to cover camp fees and costs for local children. To make a financial donation, please visit the website (doingthemostgood.org) or mail a check to P.O. Box 2786, Columbia SC 29202.
