AIKEN, S.C. (December 15, 2021) – The Savannah River Site’s (SRS) liquid waste contractor, Savannah River Remediation (SRR), has released its Fiscal Year (FY) 2021 annual report, highlighting significant milestones accomplished throughout the year.
Beginning with its mission, vision, and core values, the report includes topics ranging from safety, FY21 records, Saltstone Disposal Unit construction, to community giving and education outreach.
SRR’s FY21 accomplishments include:
Completing 7.8 million hours without an injury requiring days away from work;
Preparing four million gallons of salt waste feed for processing at the Salt Waste Processing Facility (a Parsons Corp. project);
Producing 5.1 million gallons of saltstone grout;
Demonstrating Canister Double-Stack capabilities in Glass Waste Storage Building 2;
Awarding over $147.4 million of all materials and services to small businesses; and,
Exceeding the employee United Way campaign donation goal of $260,000.
SRR President and Project Manager Phil Breidenbach said 2021 has been an amazing year full of significant challenges and spectacular success.
“The COVID-19 pandemic forced us to re-evaluate many of our plans, practices, and procedures,” Breidenbach said. “But we adjusted, implemented, and succeeded! In the end, we pulled together to prove that Teamwork is more than just an SRR core value. We have proven that Teamwork results in record-breaking accomplishments.”
