COLUMBIA – The South Carolina Department of Agriculture is pleased to announce that Laura Jordan will serve as its new director of agribusiness development.
With her knowledge of agriculture, leadership skills and collaborative approach, Laura will build upon the Department’s success in growing South Carolina’s largest industry.
Laura is a native of Newberry, South Carolina, and a 2013 graduate of Clemson University’s College of Agriculture, Forestry & Life Sciences (CAFLS). She remains engaged with Clemson by serving on the CAFLS Alumni Board for the college, as well as the university’s Young Alumni Council. Additionally, Laura is currently pursuing her Master of Business Administration degree at the University of South Carolina, and is a graduate of the South Carolina Economic Development Institute.
Laura began working for the South Carolina Department of Agriculture in the spring of 2014 and has served both the agency and the industry in a variety of capacities since beginning her career, including as executive director of the South Carolina Soybean Board. Most recently, Laura served as the assistant director of Agribusiness Development, where she worked alongside former director Jack Shuler.
