Columbia, SC – Scott and Company LLC is pleased to announce that Matthew G. Aguilar has received his license to practice as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in South Carolina.
Since joining Scott and Company LLC in 2017, Aguilar has served as an associate accountant in the firm’s Tax and Advisory Services Department. He is responsible for preparing individual and business tax returns, performing tax research, and participating in various advisory services.

Achieving one’s CPA license is a tremendous accomplishment in this profession.”
Aguilar holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Thomas Edison State College, a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of South Carolina, and a Master of Professional Accountancy with a concentration in taxation from Clemson University. He is a member of the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants (SCACPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). He was a Legacy Scholar with the AICPA from 2014-2015 and is a former member of Beta Alpha Psi. Aguilar and his wife, Sharon currently reside in West Columbia, South Carolina. Together they have one daughter, Charity Isabella.
