Tapp's Arts Center is delighted to announce a partnership with WREN (Women's Rights and Empowerment Network) in presenting the first installation of their exhibition series, Seen and Heard. Featuring photography and portraiture by a diverse group of women, gender minorities, and girls from across the Midlands region, the exhibition will open on February 1st and be on view through February 22nd, 2018.
Seen and Heard at Tapp's Arts Center is the premier event in a series of eight unique gallery openings across the Midlands featuring 80 original artworks from 40 new and local artists. These artists have used photography and portraiture as a means of bringing to light the opportunities and barriers they've faced within their communities.
The exhibited artworks will be supported by captions, available in both English and Spanish, and video interviews with the artists. Audience members will have the opportunity to respond through a video storytelling booth. The opening reception will include light refreshments, beginning at 5:30 p.m., with an artist panel discussion at 6:30 p.m.
