Sexual Trauma Services of the Midlands Promotes Marketing and Development Team

COLUMBIA, SC - Sexual Trauma Services of the Midlands (STSM) is happy to announce the promotions of two members of its administrative team. Layla Ferjani, Marketing Coordinator, has been promoted to Director of Marketing, and Brittany Russell, Assistant Director of Development, has been promoted to Director of Development. In their new roles, they will each assume additional responsibilities in marketing, development, and community outreach.

"Brittany's and Layla's aptitude and contributions have been invaluable," Mary Dell Hayes, STSM Executive Director, said. "Their work has contributed thousands of dollars to STSM and the services we provide, brought awareness to the community about the impact of sexual violence, and enhanced the strategic direction of STSM. We are confident they will continue to drive the success of STSM."

Brittany Russell, Director of Development
Layla joined STSM in August 2016 as its Marketing Coordinator upon graduating from the University of South Carolina in May 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in public relations and a minor in international studies. As STSM's Director of Marketing, Layla will execute and evaluate all comprehensive and strategic marketing and public relations plans to promote and enhance STSM's brand. Her ability to build STSM's brand, cultivate media relationships, and develop strong marketing strategies made her a natural fit for her current promotion.

Upon graduation from the University of South Carolina School of Law with her Juris Doctorate in 2016, Brittany joined STSM in January 2017 as its Assistant Director of Development, and has since been a valuable member of STSM's administrative team. As STSM's Director of Development, Brittany implements and manages STSM's annual development plan, collaborates with the community on fundraising events, and researches grant opportunities. Brittany is known her for ability to foster relationships with valuable community partners and donors and secure new funding avenues for STSM, which made her more than deserving for her current promotion.
