Soda City Market Partners With Founders Federal Credit Union

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Soda City is thrilled to announce a recent partnership with Founders Federal Credit Union, a not-for-profit financial cooperative infiltrating the Columbia scene with locations on the University of South Carolina campus and within the BullStreet District, and naming rights to the Gamecock baseball stadium (Founders Park) and Founders Zone at Williams-Brice Stadium. Prospective members, financially curious residents, and community enthusiasts are encouraged to visit the Founders Federal Credit Union space at Soda City Market starting Saturday, March 7, 2020 through May 30, 2020, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., rain or shine.

“Our team is looking forward to this opportunity and eagerly awaits the unfolding of all collaborative efforts with Founders Federal Credit Union,” said Heather Curtis, Soda City Public Relations Director. “We often say that our number one priority is to ensure the Soda City Market vendors make a profit. This new partnership will likely assist the vendors as much as it will the patrons, through continued education on financial literacy and planning.”

Founders Federal Credit Union will promote various seasonal campaigns, products surrounding savings, spending, borrowing, and planning, and the importance of financial education. Their team will be on-site to take questions from market-goers.

“Founders Federal Credit Union is excited and grateful for this opportunity to partner with the Soda City Market as we look to expand our footprint in the Midlands.” said Matt Nichols, Vice President – Columbia Market at Founders Federal Credit Union. “Our products and services are second to none, and we look forward to being able to share these options with residents here to improve their financial well-being.”

About Soda City: Soda City is an event company. The namesake “Soda City Market” is meant to be a microcosm of Columbia. It runs year-round, rain or shine. From Cola, abbreviation first created by the U.S. Postal Service for Columbia, came Soda City. It’s a moniker which has resonated well with locals and has inspired the name of a city shuttle system dubbed Soda Cap Connector. The company logo is a soda cap, in part because of the name [Soda City], but also because Columbia is the capital city of South Carolina. In addition to Soda City Market, Soda City organizes and executes Soda City Adoption Day, Soda City Yard Sale, and various partner programming.

About Founders Federal Credit Union: The credit union, one of the largest and most innovative in the nation, was founded in 1950 in Fort Mill, South Carolina to provide financial services to the employees of Springs Industries, Inc. Founders serves over 222,000 members and more than 30 locations. The credit union has over $2.6 billion in assets.
