Spitzmiller Named South Carolina Commercial Sales Leader

(COLUMBIA, SC – March 22, 2018)  South State Bank today announced that Mike Spitzmiller has been named the South Carolina Commercial Sales leader and executive vice president.

In this role, Spitzmiller will have responsibility for developing relationships with middle-market companies across South Carolina. He will continue to serve in his current role as commercial banking executive for the upstate region of South Carolina.

Spitzmiller’s career spans 35 years in banking, with most of it spent in commercial banking.

Spitzmiller is a graduate of Clemson University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Financial Management. He has also served on the Board of Visitors for Clemson.

Additionally, he currently serves on the Board of Directors for Coaches 4 Character, and he has previously served as chairman of the board. He has served on the Board of Directors and was previously vice chairman for the Upcountry History Museum. He has also served on the board of directors for the March of Dimes and was a past chairman for the March for Babies.
