AIKEN, S.C. — Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC), the liquid waste contractor at the Savannah River Site, has been recognized as an “all-star” for its continuing efforts to support United Way agencies across the region.

SRMC recently received United Way of the Central Savannah River Area’s (CSRA) All-Star Award for its successful fundraising campaign in 2022. Each year, the award is given to organizations that raise at least $50,000 for the United Way of the CSRA.

Paul E. Cundey IV has served as SRMC’s United Way campaign chairman since 2021. He accepted the award on behalf of the company.

“It is an honor to both serve as chairman of SRMC’s fundraising campaign and to accept this award for our company and our employees,” Cundey said. “Our team continues to exhibit great generosity for the United Way and to bettering the lives of our neighbors being served.”

Brittany Burnett, President & CEO of United Way of the CSRA, said it is companies like SRMC that help make a positive impact on the lives of residents in need.

“We are so grateful for the leadership and commitment provided by the team at Savannah River Mission Completion,” Burnett said. “Last year, because of their support, we were able to impact the lives of over 251,000 residents throughout our 12-county footprint. We were honored to present the All-Star Award to SRMC for its unwavering support of United Way of the CSRA through contributions and countless volunteer hours.”

Throughout the annual fundraising campaign, SRMC employees give their time, talents, and financial support to bolster programs that receive aid from the United Way. Annual fundraising projects include a softball tournament, bowling tournament, cooking contests, as well as volunteering for numerous community service events.

SRMC comprises parent company BWX Technologies, Inc. with partners Amentum and Fluor. Its team brings the capabilities necessary to accelerate cleanup at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Savannah River Site through safe nuclear operations, optimized and integrated mission execution, and strong corporate governance.
