COLUMBIA, S.C. – McGriff Insurance Services today said it has hired Marcus Stevens as agency manager for its McGriff-Boyle Vaughan office here at 2000 Center Point Road.
With more than 12 years of experience in the insurance and financial services industries, Stevens comes to Columbia after serving as the agency manager of McGriff’s insurance office in its Greater Washington D.C. Region.
His responsibilities will include managing an agency expansion initiative at McGriff-Boyle Vaughan that will include the recruitment and hiring of as many as eight new insurance sales professionals over the next two years.
“With his proven track record of leadership and success in driving sales culture, Marcus is very well suited to lead our aggressive expansion plan in the Columbia agency, centered around business development and marketing our Insurance brand throughout the BB&T banking network in South Carolina,” said Tommy Parrish, regional agency director for McGriff Insurance Services.
The Wilmington, N.C., native earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from Barry University in Miami Shores, Fla., where he was captain of the men’s basketball team. A certified public accountant, Stevens is currently in the Executive MBA program at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business.
