Studio 2LR, Inc. Architecture + Interiors Earns Adaptive Reuse Honor Award from AIA South Carolina

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Studio 2LR, Inc., an architecture and interior design firm creating impact through transformative design, recently earned an Adaptive Reuse Honor Award from the South Carolina Chapter of the American Institute of Architects.

The design for Richland Library Edgewood converted a former 7,350 SF Dollar General store and serves as the first public library for the Edgewood neighborhood in more than 40 years since the Waverly branch on Gervais Street closed in 1971.
The design jury commented, “Simple but sophisticated and smart additions totally transformed this former Dollar General. WOW! Holds the corner nicely. The new “porch” invites community engagement! Elegant color palate in the façade elevates this neighborhood-scaled and well-located existing building into a civic anchor. Beautifully zoned interior planning.”
