Tasting Notes returns March 28

Columbia, S.C. – Following a two year break due to the pandemic, The South Carolina Philharmonic is bringing Tasting Notes back to Columbia on Monday, March 28 from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM at the SC State Museum (301 Gervais St.). In its 8th year, this event is a highly popular wine and food celebration with proceeds supporting the orchestra’s artistic, education and community outreach programs. Tickets are $125 and include all food and libations. The event also boasts a silent auction, a cigar bar by Stoney Creek Cigars, beer by Swamp Cabbage Brewery and music by Flat Out Strangers. The event’s grand level sponsor is Dick Dyer and Associates. Vaccinated guests are welcomed. Tickets may be purchased at www.scphilharmonic.com.

With a solid history as a sold-out evening, Tasting Notes has been the SC Philharmonic’s most successful and popular annual fundraising event of the last decade. “Tasting Notes has become the signature wine and food festival in the Midlands,” said Executive Director Rhonda Hunsinger. “This event showcases some of the finest restaurants in our region, and a selection of outstanding wines from around the world - all while supporting the SC Philharmonic’s programming in our community.”

This year’s Tasting Notes promises to take attendees on a lavish tour of the senses with libations and culinary delights from Columbia-area restaurant partners. The event will also serve as a celebration of the hardiness and spirit of the Midlands community. “One of the unique characteristics of Tasting Notes is the SC Phil’s relationship with our restaurant partners, vendors and wine distributors,” said SC Philharmonic Development and Deputy Director Robin Hallyburton. “They are not just business partners, but they are some of our strongest supporters and friends. This year’s Tasting Notes will celebrate all of our resilience, perseverance and dedication to our community over the past two years.”

For the 2022 installment of Tasting Notes, restaurant partners include: 1801 Grille, Blue Marlin Steaks and Seafood, Bourbon Columbia, Black Rooster, COA Agaveria and Cocina, Gervais and Vine, Hampton Street Vineyard, Hendrix, Market on Main, The Melting Pot, Miyo’s/M Vista/ M Gourmet Group, Motor Supply Bistro, Ratio, Smoked and Tazza Kitchen.
