Did you know that February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month?
Yearly Visions of Women, a nonprofit organization in Richland County, locally host their annual teen talk to discuss healthy and unhealthy relationships. On Saturday, February 6th, 2021 from 1 PM to 2:30 PM the organization will host a free virtual parent and teen talk event. This organization continues to collectively raise awareness of domestic violence through education, support, and leadership. V.O.W. gives prevention tools and resources to teens and college students so they are less likely to go through an unhealthy relationship. Through this talk, students are educated on how to set boundaries and learn the warning signs of abuse.
This event is free to the public and will be one session with two different groups held on Zoom virtual platform. The sessions will have two facilitators, a School Counselor to speak with parents, and a Victim Witness Specialist to talk with teens. Both facilitators are experts in their field and we know parents will enjoy engaging and learning about the growing issues and pressures facing today's youth.
At the end of the session, there will be prize drawings for parents and teens. We hope you can attend. For more information and to register please visit www. visionsofwomen.org or
