The F-Suite Magazine Turns 2!

The F-Suite Celebrates Two Years of Publication Despite Challenges

The F-Suite, a quarterly magazine for entrepreneurial women, is celebrating its second full year in business with the publication of its eighth issue this month, despite COVID-related challenges. The magazine was started by publisher and managing editor Anna Gelbman Edmonds, which ironically pitched her into small business ownership. The goal is to help other women grow their businesses intelligently and in turn become leaders in the business community. The magazine covers topics on financial management, marketing, hiring, etc. The most popular articles are the profiles of inspirational women business owners.

“We started out strong in our first year, but in spring of 2020 we had to hold back and only print a digital issue,” says Edmonds, who points out that 20% of small businesses fail in their first two years without pandemic-related issues. “But we took that issue, added more content and printed it as a bigger edition in the summer.“ The magazine is distributed for free in coffee shops, restaurants, retail stores, salons and just about anywhere women gather and shop. COVID closed many of those doors, so fewer copies were printed last year while Edmonds focused on bringing about awareness of the digital version and the brand through social media and direct marketing.

The F-Suite features articles that appeal to small business owners in all stages of their entrepreneurial journey, from daydreaming to planning for a successful transition out of their business upon retirement. Profiles on successful women showcase how the business owners overcome unique challenges to persevere and come out stronger. “Anna’s magazine gives women-owned businesses the platform to share our story and share our businesses. The articles are a great read!” said Lasenta Lewis-Ellis, who was profiled in the winter 2021 issue.

As COVID seems to be starting to turn a corner in the world, Edmonds is optimistic that small businesses can spring back to pre-pandemic health, or even stronger. The magazine will continue to run articles relevant to the topics small business owners might face in the months and years ahead as we begin to enter a post-COVID world. “Business owners need to call on their original entrepreneurial creativity and energy to hurdle the obstacles they are confronting today,” says Edmonds.

Resources like The F-Suite are important for the small business community, especially for women, who now own 40% of all small businesses nationwide. The magazine, with its evergreen content and up-to-date takes on hot trends in the small business world, is the kind of publication that has relevance long beyond its shelf life. The F-Suite’s mission is to encourage and be a resource for women in the business community, empowering them to grow and develop their businesses and leadership skills in order to make a positive impact on the greater community. www.thefsuite.com
