Thriller returns to Blue Moon Ballroom

Thrill to the Thriller line dance in the October class at Blue Moon Ballroom.

Columbia, SC — It’s back! Continuing its October tradition, Blue Moon Ballroom has added a month of Thriller line dance classes to its group class schedule.

The four-week class meets on all Fridays in October from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. at 554 Meeting Street, West Columbia, SC. Once again, the instructor is Eric Blair.

“Thriller never gets old,” said James Williamson, owner and principal instructor at Blue Moon Ballroom. “Every year’s class has been a wonderful mix of experienced dancers, people brand new to dance, and everyone in between.”

The Thriller line dance has been a Halloween staple since the release of Michael Jackson’s iconic music video nearly 40 years ago. Blue Moon’s tradition is to conclude the final session with a performance at that evening’s Halloween ballroom dance party, which begins at 7:30 p.m. and is open to all ballroom dancers, in costume or not.

Along with group sessions, Blue Moon Ballroom offers private lessons, wedding dance lessons, and classes for private groups in a variety of ballroom, club, Latin, and country-western styles. Instructors are also available for dance hosting at private parties, corporate team-building sessions, and dance exhibitions. Blue Moon Ballroom won the Top Studio award at the 2021 Asheville Dance Classic competition, where two of its dancers also took Top Student awards.
