Columbia, SC, February 19, 2020 – Mauldin & Jenkins is pleased to announce that Tim Lyons has been appointed Partner-in-Charge of M&J’s Columbia office. Lyons will be responsible for the management and strategic expansion of the office, which serves clients throughout the Carolinas. Lyons succeeds Chuck Statler, who has served as Partner-in-Charge of the Columbia Office since 2017 when Mauldin & Jenkins merged with Derrick, Stubbs and Stith.

Lyons specializes in serving clients in a wide range of industries including state and local governments, higher education, and not-for-profit organizations. His experience covers audits and attestation services, consulting, and advisory work.
Lyons received his undergraduate degree from Furman University in 2006, worked in public accounting in Charleston, SC, and then returned to school to obtain his masters from the College of Charleston. He joined the Atlanta office of Mauldin & Jenkins in August of 2009 and relocated to the Columbia office in 2018. Lyons is involved in a variety of organizations to both support client industries and to promote the CPA profession overall. At the national level, Lyons is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and is a graduate of the AICPA Leadership Academy, Class of 2012. At the state level, he is a frequent speaker at SCACPA events and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Children’s Trust of South Carolina.
