March 18, 2020 – COLUMBIA, SC. With our clients being at the forefront of the COVID-19 crisis, we are highly sensitive to the services needed to support our local senior community. We are committed to staying open at Senior Resources and providing local senior citizens the services they so desperately need. All of our clients will continue to receive a balanced meal delivered to their home through our Meals on Wheels program.
Here are ways that you can help local Richland County senior citizens during this crisis. We are accepting canned goods for our Senior Care Pantry. The items that we accept are listed on our website at: https://www.seniorresourcesinc.org/seni…/senior-care-pantry/ and can be dropped off at our office at 2817 Millwood Ave. Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Please contact your Senators now to encourage them to get the Coronavirus Emergency Relief Act passed. The House passed this important legislation in early morning on Saturday, March 14. It is $250 million for emergency senior citizen nutrition. It is funding that is desperately needed for the population in the crosshairs of this outbreak. Now is the time for action, every hour of delay is an hour a senior is locked at home and hungry. You can contact Senator Graham at (202) 224-5972 and Senator Scott at (855) 425-6324 to plead with them to take action and approve the bill as written and release these senior nutrition funds as quickly as possible so they can be put to work.
You can also contribute a monetary donation to our COVID-19 Disaster Relief Fund:
