Women Lead the Way as WOW Productions Mounts “Confessions of A Good Man” in Columbia for Last Time September 27-29, 2019

September 10, 2019 (COLUMBIA, SC)-- The all-woman team of WOW (Walking on Water) Productions is preparing to mount “Confessions of a Good Man”, their most popular show to-date, for the very last time in Columbia.

“Confessions of a Good Man” is an inspirational stage play that gives a glance into the mind of men and the struggles that they often face in life, relationships and love. The play will take place Friday, September 27 - Sunday, September 29 at Harbison Theatre at Midlands Technical College (7300 College Street, Irmo, SC 29063).

The production is appropriate for all ages, but children under 7 years of age will not be permitted as the play will be recorded live for DVD. For tickets and more information visit www.wowproduction.org or call/text 803-807-2969.

WOW Productions is owned and operated by an all-woman production team. Tangie Beaty (Founder and CEO) joined forces with fellow playwright, Donna Johnson (COO) and created a company that would produce original inspirational productions that empower individuals to rebuild family values, effect change, encourage the lost and restore self-esteem. As they worked, other women were drawn by the company’s ability to tell intriguing and entertaining stories and its knack for excellence. The 7-woman core production team consists of Tangie Beaty, Donna Johnson, Dana Wesley, Arischa Frierson, Tamara Finkbeiner, Josetra Robinson and Shaniqka Thomas. These women serve in every capacity of the company from script writing to directing, producing, scenic design, casting, stage management, video production, editing, graphic design, marketing and wardrobe design. Every aspect of the production originates with a woman. Some of them began as actors with the company, others as playwrights and others as fans and patrons, but they all saw something in the company that made them want to be a part and to do more.

WOW Productions, though a local theatre company, produces work of a national caliber. The company has been the recipient of several national awards including the Best Directors Award - Kingdomwood Film Festival, Best Theatre Production - Black Jazz and Arts Awards, Best Stage Play (for Confessions of a Good Man), and more! WOW has had success on both stage and screen, joining with One7evenOne Productions (Tamara Finkbeiner and Josetra Robinson), they also won The Jasper Project's Second Act Film Festival for two consecutive years. WOW aims to become a national touring theatre company and production company creating film and tv projects. They aspire to soon join the ranks of Tyler Perry, David E. Talbert and Shonda Rhimes.
