Nonprofit partners with Spark Laboratory to host workshop
(COLUMBIA, S.C.) – The Big Red Barn Retreat is partnering with Spark Laboratory, a music leadership program based out of the University of South Carolina School of Music, to hold a free drumming workshop for service members titled, “Mindfulness Through Group Drumming” on March 18 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the Big Red Barn Retreat.
The workshop will be hosted by John Fitzgerald, globally-recognized drum circle facilitator and wellness coach. Based out of California, Fitzgerald’s mission is to use music to “deliver transformative experiences that enhance the ability of individuals and organizations to meet their greatest challenges and fulfill their greatest potential.” To find out more about Fitzgerald, go to his website at johnfitzgeraldcoaching.com.
“At the BRBR, we believe that music is healing, but we have never been able to offer an experience like this for our veterans and active-duty,” said Sutton Shaw, Executive Director at the Big Red Barn Retreat. “We are grateful that Spark Laboratory provided us with this opportunity.”
