Columbia, SC – March 1, 2018 - On International Women’s Day, Thursday, March 8, the Women’s Rights and Empowerment Network (WREN) will offer a unique opportunity to sit alongside some of S.C.’s most accomplished women at a WREN Luncheon, where the following trailblazers will be honored: Ms. Vivian Anderson, Ms. Malissa Burnette, Ms. Zakiya Esper, Dr. Stephanie Kripa Cooper-Lewter, Dr. Amy Crockett, Ms. Tamika Gadsden, Ms. Lou Kennedy, Dr. Reshma Khan, Ms. Sarah Leverette, and Ms. Kit Smith.

Through their personal, professional, and philanthropic achievements, these women embody WREN’s mission to advance the health, economic well-being and rights of S.C. women, girls and their families.

“We are honored to celebrate remarkable women from across the state,” notes Ann Warner, CEO of WREN. “This year we are highlighting women that are leading the way toward a better South Carolina. They are improving the lives of women, girls, and their families by providing access to healthcare, creating jobs, representing us in elected office, organizing activists, encouraging young people, fighting for justice and inspiring others.”

The WREN Luncheon will take place on March 8, 2018 at Stone River in West Columbia, S.C., from 12:00pm-2:00pm. Guests will enjoy a seated, plated lunch served by Spotted Salamander Catering, a woman-owned business specializing in sustainable ingredients and regional dishes.
