You Better Watch Out, You Better Not Cry – Santa Claus: The Musical Lands at HT@MTC on December 21

Make your list and check it twice – Santa Claus is coming to Harbison Theatre! Join Columbia Children’s Theatre (CCT) at Harbison Theatre at Midlands Technical College (HT@MTC) for Santa Claus: The Musical on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 3:30 PM.

After 1,000 years of delivering toys to all the good boys and girls around the world, Santa Claus is ready to retire. But can anyone take his place? Who will manage the North Pole? This delightful, hilarious musical from CCT features Santa and his elves as they work to solve this dilemma.

“We can’t wait to bring our holiday show to HT@MTC this year,” says CCT Artistic Director Jerry Stevenson. “The holiday season is such a fun time of year, and we can’t wait to share that experience with friends and families in Irmo!”

The production features Lee O. Smith as Santa who also played the role in Greenville two years ago with the South Carolina Children’s Theatre. Mrs. Claus will be played by Christyne McClellan, and Henchy, Santa’s very ambitious elf, will be played by CCT favorite Baker Morrison. The principal elves, Tenchy, Chirpy, and Punchy will be played by Jillian Peltzman, Carol Bies, and Toni Moore. The role of Santa’s chosen replacement, Nick, will be taken on by Alex Cone, and Nick’s daughter will be played by London Saunders. Rounding out the cast will be nearly thirty young actors from CCT’s “YouTheatre” program.

“When Jerry (Stevenson) told me they were doing this holiday play, I just knew we had to bring it to HT@MTC,” says Kristin Cobb, Executive Director of HT@MTC. “We love the holidays at the theatre, and this hilarious musical was a perfect way to celebrate the season.”

Tickets are $12 and ages three and under are free. Tickets can be purchased online at HarbisonTheatre.org or by calling the box office at 803.407.5011.
